Overview
WhisperGem is a desktop productivity application that enables speech recognition, audio-to-text conversion, text-to-speech, and fast dictation workflows. This policy explains what information may be processed and your choices.
Information We Process
- Audio and Voice Input: When you use dictation or speech recognition, your audio may be processed to produce text. Depending on your settings, processing may occur locally or via third-party speech services you connect.
- Transcripts and Text: Text produced from audio (and any edits) exists on your device unless you export or share it. We do not receive this content by default through the website.
- Usage and Diagnostics (optional): If you choose to send feedback or diagnostics, we may receive app version, OS, and minimal technical details to improve the product.
- Payments/Donations: If you support us via third-party processors (e.g., Payoneer), those providers handle your payment and may share limited info (e.g., transaction status). We do not store card details.
How We Use Information
- Provide core features: speech recognition (Whisper integration or other ASR), audio-to-text, text-to-speech, and dictation tools.
- Improve quality and reliability (e.g., handle bug reports you explicitly submit).
- Operate the website (static pages) and share updates.
Processing Modes
- Local: Where feasible, audio is handled on your machine.
- Cloud Services: If you connect external services (e.g., Whisper-based APIs or other ASR/TTS providers), your audio/text may be sent to those providers under their terms. Configure these integrations in-app according to your preferences.
Data Sharing
- Service providers you choose (ASR/TTS/payment) receive only what is necessary to deliver the feature.
- Compliance with law or to protect rights, property, and safety as required.
- We do not sell personal data.
Retention
We do not store your audio or transcripts on our servers by default. Content resides on your device unless you export or share it. For donations, payment records are retained by the payment processor per legal requirements.
Your Choices
- Use local-only features, or configure/disable third-party services.
- Delete local content (audio, transcripts) from your device at any time.
- Contact us to request deletion of any information you directly submitted (e.g., email/support tickets).
Children
WhisperGem is not directed to children under 13. Do not use the services if you do not meet the minimum age of consent in your jurisdiction.

We may update this policy over time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
